South Korea's Business Survey Index (BSI) for the manufacturing sector fell to 70 in June of 2025, down from a 10-month high of 73 recorded in May. The decline was attributed to weak domestic demand and the lingering impact of US tariff measures. The outlook for July remained unchanged at 70, indicating sustained pessimism among manufacturers. Meanwhile, the Economic Sentiment Index (ESI)—a composite measure combining the Business Sentiment Index (BSI) and the Consumer Survey Index (CSI)—rose slightly to 92.8 in June, up 0.6 points from the previous month.
