France’s consumer confidence held steady at 88 in June 2025, unchanged from the previous month and coming in just below market expectations of 89. The index remained well below its long-term average of 100 and stood at its weakest reading since December 2024. Key components of the index showed little movement, with sentiment around personal financial expectations remained stable at -14, while the willingness to make major purchases held at -27. Inflation expectations were also unchanged at -38. However, outlook for future living standards turned slightly more pessimistic, slipping to -60 from -59. On a more positive note, concerns over future unemployment eased slightly, with the index improving to 59 from 61. Meanwhile, households reported a more optimistic view of their expected saving capacity, which rose to 12 from 10, and an increase in saving intentions, up to 40 from 36.
