Utilities in the United States injected 56 billion cubic feed of natural gas into storage on the week ending August 8th to total 3.186 trillion cubic feet of storage, slightly ahead of market expectations of a 53 bcf increase and firmly higher than comparable weeks in the previous year. With the build, current storage levels were 6.6% higher than the five-year average, although they remain 2.4% below the corresponding period of the previous year.
