Slovenia posted a trade deficit of EUR 446.5 million in April 2025, shifting from a surplus of EUR 154.4 million in the same month last year. This marked the first shortfall since December last year, as exports dropped while imports rose. Year-on-year, exports declined by 2.4% to EUR 5,780.4 million, dragged down by lower shipments in EU (-2.7%) and non-EU countries (-2.1%). Meanwhile, imports advanced by 8% to EUR 6,226.8 million, with purchases to non-EU countries surging by 20.5%, while EU countries decreased by 4.7%. Considering the January to April period, the country recorded a surplus of EUR 2,619.1 million.
