Industrial production in Slovakia dropped by 4.5% year-on-year in November 2025, slipping further from a 3.8% fall in the previous month. This marked the second straight month of decline and the ninth contraction this year, led by electricity and gas supply, which plunged 18.8%, the sharpest fall since March 2022, following a 15.5% fall in October. Transport equipment output also weighed, dropping 6.7%, the third weakest monthly result since March 2024, partly due to a high comparison base. Meanwhile, the most positive impact came from metal production, rising 5.2% from 2.8% in the prior month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output increased by 0.9%. Considering the January to November period, overall industrial production decreased by 2.6% compared with the same period last year, with electricity & gas supply, metal production, and machinery & equipment being the largest drags, while gains in transport equipment partially offset losses.
