Germany's exports rose by 0.8% month-on-month to EUR 130.5 billion in June 2025, rebounding from a 1.4% decline in the previous month and surpassing market expectations of a 0.5% increase. The rebound was driven by stronger demand within EU countries (2.4%), with shipments to the Eurozone rising 3.1% and those to non-Eurozone countries up 1%. Meanwhile, exports to third countries fell by 1.2%, notably reflecting weaker trade with the US, where shipments dropped 2.1% to EUR 11.8 billion—marking the third consecutive monthly decline and the lowest level since February 2022, amid evolving US tariff measures. Conversely, exports to the Russian Federation jumped 10.3%, while shipments to China rose 1.1%. For the first half of 2025, Germany’s total exports reached EUR 785.6 billion, representing a modest 0.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
