Georgia’s trade deficit narrowed to USD 762.1 million in May 2025 from USD 912.5 million in the same month last year. This marked the smallest trade deficit since March of 2024. Year-on-year, exports grew 15.7% to USD 560.1 million, while imports fell by 5.1% to 1,342.2 million. In the first four months of the year, the country’s trade deficit widened to USD 4,601.6 million from USD 4,113.4 million in the corresponding period of the previous year, as exports increased by 14.6% while imports rose by 12.8%.
