Consumer prices in Fiji fell by 0.4% year-on-year in July 2025, following a 0.6% drop in the previous month. This marked the second consecutive month of decline in consumer prices, as most prices fell. Downward price pressures came from food and non-alcoholic beverages (-2.9% vs -2.6% in June), housing (-1.1% vs -1.4%), transport (-3.3% vs -4.4%), clothing and footwear (-2.6% vs -2.5%), and recreation and culture (-0.7% vs -0.6%). Upward price pressures were seen in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.1% vs 5.1%), education (0.5% vs 0.5%), miscellaneous goods and services (8.9% vs 9.0%), and furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (0.8% vs -0.6%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices shrank by 0.5% in July, the first monthly decline in three months, reversing a 0.2% rise in June.
