The annual inflation rate in the Dominican Republic accelerates to 3.71% in April of 2025 from 3.58% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since December 2023, as prices advanced faster for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.38% vs 3.80% in March), recreation and culture (6.35% vs 5.83%), furniture and household goods (2.50% vs 2.40%), health (4.98% vs 4.78%), and miscellaneous goods (5.25% vs 5.04%), while price growth for housing and utilities was unchanged (at 2.04%). In contrast, consumer price growth slowed down for communications (1.32% vs 2.64%), education (5.63% vs 5.80%), transport (2.47% vs 2.57%), and restaurant and hotels (5.36% vs 5.51%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.03% in April, following a 0.31% rise in March.
