Croatia’s trade deficit slightly narrowed to EUR 1.8 billion in April 2025 from EUR 1.9 billion in the same month last year, according to preliminary data. Exports fell by 1.4% to EUR 2 billion, while imports declined at a faster pace of 3.7% to EUR 3.8 billion. For the January to April period, however, the country’s trade gap widened to EUR 6.6 billion compared to EUR 6.4 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year. Exports rose by 6.4% to EUR 8.1 billion, supported by higher sales to both EU (6.5%) and non-EU (6.4%) countries. Meanwhile, imports grew by 4.8%, driven by increased purchases from EU countries (0.7%) and a sharp rise in imports from non-EU countries (21.3%).
