Chile’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 4.3% in July 2025 from 4.1% in the previous month. The pickup was mainly driven by higher inflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.2% vs 2.3%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.2% vs 4%), restaurants and lodging (6.5% vs 6.1%), and recreation, sports, and culture (3.8% vs 3%). In contrast, inflation slowed for insurance and financial services (0.1% vs 4.1%), transport (0.6% vs 0.8%), and household equipment and maintenance (1.9% vs 2.9%). Inflation was unchanged for education (5.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rebounded, rising 0.9% after a 0.4% decline in June.
